What a wonderful Christmas Eve with friends this year. Laughter and good food is a great combination.  I am finishing my remodel and it's wonderful. I feel like I moved because the changes are remarkable. I have a few days left to make my list for the coming year and a 2013 Mary Box. I am ready...
if I can get my lap back! The lap dog and the laptop are competing.
God bless everyone. Thank you for your Christmas cards and calls.  Emalou

The Mass:

*****
Celebrating the Holy Mass
*****
It's Sunday today. I would like to welcome back all those who have not attended Mass recently.
It is so comforting to sit in the Catholic Community with  the familiarity of this sacrifice that takes place
all over the world. It's nice to walk into any Catholic Church and be at home. and know what's happening.
Come Home for Christmas!

Declutter and Renewal:

By now most have lit the second purple candle and are saying a prayer before meals with the family. The time is moving right along in anticipation of our Savior's birthday.
I have been having a "waiting" period at my house. It reminds me that waiting can sometimes
be difficult. What to do in that time that we have been given.
Waiting, like the gospel says...
in great anticipation and joy.

I am getting a new kitchen and utility room.
There was the demolition of a wall, and with the removal of the appliances.
The double oven was given to a friend, sold the washer and dryer (traded for work) and recycled the sink.
Next the painters came and did bone on the  walls and swiss coffee on the ceiling.

The flooring installers completed doing the floors and have a few more quarter rounds to put in my office. The cabinets, made locally in my neighborhood, will be installed on Monday.
The appliances (dishwasher, vented microwave and range) will be installed after that and then the countertops will be measured and completed in a beautiful quartz.
My new couch by the end of the year.
Yes...I splurged and have treated myself to a new do-over...
I continue to declutter and renew which has been my theme throughtout the year 2012.

And I am excited for the arrival of our Blessed Lord and wait in anticipation, still...

Juan Diego: Saint of the Day

I love this story...
Google this miracle.
I hope to go to Mexico City sometime and visit
Our Lady of Guadalupe who is the protector of Americas.
We need her more now than ever before.

Delcutter and Renewal:

This  is my first blog from my laptop. Really I have had this longer than usual learning curve and have gone back to the store twice to get help with this. My fingertips are also getting used to the feel of the keys. I am getting attached to this thing and hope to blog more frequently.
I started out the year with declutter and renewal and here I am at it again.
Seems like I am always finding and//or disposing of something. I love the donation and consignment shops...a great place to take things.
December 8 is a Holy Day of Obligation and Mass is at 9am here in Capitola at St. Joseph's Catholic Community.
My remodel job is right on schedule. I am in the process of waiting right now for the cupboards to be completed at the woodworkers. This is exciting and I hope to be completed by January 1. So far, everyone is cooperating.
God bless you and prayers for everyone who has no one to pray for them.
