Bookshop Santa Cruz and the Survivor's Healing Center held an Event to highlight abuse awareness.

 Local author, Emalou King, read from her memoir, "Under My Roof ~ A Mother's Story of the Heinous Crime of Incest."

This is a day I will never forget.

 It's the day that I had a blind date.

After a few dates there followed an engagement.

My loving family told me not to marry him.

Well, I did anyway against their wishes.

I DIDN'T LISTEN TO MY PARENTS!

I was wrong.

They were right.

"Under My Roof ~ A Mother's story of the Heinous Crime of Incest"... is my memoir.

The book signing will be held at Book Shop Santa Cruz on March 25, a Tuesday evening.

The Survivor's Healing Center of Santa Cruz will be there to answer questions.

All proceeds from the sale of this book helps the programs they provide.

It may be 50 years ago but our memories seem to hold these events forever.
