Many survivors have told me that they wish their mother

had read my book. I would suggest you buy my book for them.

Let them write in it. Underline things and cross out stuff.

It is in the second edition which means an introduction

has been added and also a section for beginning conversations.

 

Let's talk about it. I would also invite "mothers of survivors" to contact me.

This has been helpful to discuss and support one another.

Each day more and more mothers are in the spot we have been in.

We are strong. We have voices and we love our children.

You can do this. We can't do it alone. Our faith is the biggest contributor

but this is a start.

What a molester looks like:

The molester looks more  like the "boy next door," and the handsome father and neighbor and
distingquished looking teacher and muscled coach and pretty teacher and attractive uniformed.
This means you CANNOT tell by his/her looks.  This is the first mistake.  I took a tour of a prison
while in Nurses Training and had never seen a more collective group of beautiful faces and muscles.
Don't be fooled. Let children know about this #1 fact. Oh and he might also be a really NICE person!

So often we are asked to be silent in our noisy world. I noticed today it isn't the horn honking that's distracting  but the sound of locking and unlocking cars that shatters the quiet streets.

I sit in my car in the warm sun and close my eyes.The radio is off and the cell phone put away.How can we have discernment if we are disturbed. My favorite place is the Mercy Chapel at St. Joseph's in Capitola. But, it  is possible to find peace in corners of your own home or even the bathroom.Take this time during Lent.

Participating in a drumming circle is fun,energizing and wonderful. Drums and music make an impact.TALKING to break the silence of child sexual abuse makes even a bigger one!
