In grade school we were all lined up in front of the blackboard
for a spelling bee. The boy next to me had a nice sharpened pencil in his hand.
When the teacher told us to sit down he abruptly turned and started to walk
while I was still facing forward and he stuck the pencil into my arm.
Yes, stuck it. Punctured the skin. He backed up and there it was
still in my arm. I remember the trauma but surprisingly, for some reason...
maybe forgiveness...I cannot remember who did it! :0)

How do we begin...

Love and peace begin in a family by all members sitting at the kitchen table...

(listening, praise, respect, manners, kindness, appropriate behaviors)

Thanking God for your food and sharing a meal together.

Then it extends out in an eccentric circle to relationships with the relatives, friends and the neighborhood.

It also includes involvement with the schools and church community

voting for your  local city people, volunteering in multiple organizations, 

continuing to be connected somehow at the state level, country and continent.

You can probably state this better than I have because I know you know what I mean.

Like the song says, "Let it begin with me!"

Support Programs for Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse:

Every day I meet a survivor. I am overwhelmed by the enormous numbers of
women who have been molested and have never told anyone. The most upsetting
part is the perpetrator got away with it, at least for now but...
Did you think he stopped?  

No one wants to talk about child sexual abuse but once you start it's hard to stop the conversation.
 Please Help Stop this Violence.Talking, calling, writing, drawing, telling... Just DON'T keep it to yourself!

We are all broken and we are all beautiful!

The true story is all about how YOU helped someone mend.

YOU have been a shining star in someone's life.

If it weren't for YOU it wouldn't have worked.

Visual Writing Prompt: The Best Gifts

 This image has been brought to my attention 3x's in the last 3 days 

so, I felt compelled to post it.  This visual image means different things to

      each one of us. This belonged to my mother. It was a gift and I know she loved it.

   I know that because it was kept out on a table for everyone to see, not in a drawer or closet

where some of my gifts were often saved for later.  Why do we always think we know

what someone else might like?  That sounds like a good starting point for a story.

So tell it...at least start one sentence about the gift that didn't make it to the table!  

                               
                               

Memories: Writing Prompts

There are many memories that stay with  us. I enjoyed the Sing a song of Sixpence song and I put the puzzle together in my bedroom on my little green card table. I liked the part about the king counting all his money and the queen in the parlor eating bread and honey!
 I also had tea parties and wrote fan mail to movie stars but everyone doesn't have fun being a kid. No child should have to suffer. It's not easy being a kid.

Every moment of  life is not bad...Remember something you enjoyed.

Was there a sled ride,  a chemistry experiment  or a wagon adventure?

Think about your favorite books, songs, and fun times.

It may be close to that time of the  year when we "fall" back with our clocks

But there is never a time to fall back into a hell. You've come a long way.
