Declutter and Renewal:

          Abbott cards

Part of my declutter and renewal plan involved the
removal of carpet from my dining room
which was my high traffic area.

Floors,Etc completed a great job in a short amount of time.
I appreciated their professional service again since
this was the second time they'd worked in my home.
Today I received this cute hand written note card.

Since I have never seen a "thank you cards" for  thank you cards...
I will just express it here!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR THANK YOU NOTE.
I read it several times.

Declutter and Renewal: A Memory...

The Power Mower
                                   by Emalou King

It’s a white house    with green shutters    on a corner lot
A pine tree in the front   a plum tree in the back    a hedge on the side
The white picket fence painted every three years   the lawn mowed every week.

The long orange cord trails behind my Father   hangs across the kitchen windowsill
Plugs into the outlet   I am afraid   what if he runs over the cord
Will it hurt him    I watch from my bedroom window    just in case.

Perfectly straight    row after row   around the trees     under the hammock
Dad stops    empties the bag   lights his camel cigarette    spits tobacco off his tongue
He lifts his foot   wipes the damp blades of grass from his shoe   on the back of his pants leg.

Mother brings a glass of pink lemonade    stands in adoration    while he tips his head back
He wipes his mouth with the back of his hand    says aaaaaahhhh   and    thanks her
Then he plows down 19 peony bushes   shooting stems and blossoms   onto the sidewalk.

Declutter and Renewal:

"I want a dishwasher or a maid.
This is a mess and I don't feel like cleaning it up!
blah, blah, blah..."

There are people who have one pot and one pan,
just enough to go around, or just enough to make ends meet.
There are also those who cannot make ends meet.

Today, on the radio, an announcer said the USA is the least content of peoples.
He said in our country we don't focus on what we do have, but
we all focus on what we DON'T have!

Ouch!
Who has doubles of things?  Is there something you can donate?
I find with my de-cluttering and renewal a new meaning for abundance.
Let's share like in kindergarten.

And those dishes?
Before you sit down to eat, fill the empty sink with hot sudsy water.
It's a start. Clean up your mess right away and it's easier.

Just a thought!

It works for me. But do you have another idea to help facilitate a clean up?

Declutter and Renewal:

I apologize for the blurry picture this time...It's a little noisy in there and it's in motion and the pix is with my cell phone.
You are looking at the conveyor belt that moves shredded paper, etc.
So far, I have delivered 205#.

This shredder business is 3 blocks from my house and on the same street.
It's a drive through. They weigh it, charge you and then you watch everything get pulverized.
The operator of this machine says the by products become cardboard boxes.

It is amazing how much lighter I feel delivering, witnessing and driving away-
like confessing my spiritual clutter to a priest
or writing down food intake to a counselor.
Perhaps, it's just being accountable for my behavior.
Next time...my closet!
Goodwill and Grey Bears here I come.

What are you doing to feel lighter in your life?
